About the project

The documentary Frontline Life. Sumy Region tells how local residents have lived throughout the years of the war. How did they survive, and how do they continue to endure, living next to the front, constant missile attacks and bombings, an influx of soldiers, and waves of wounded fighters? How do they help the Armed Forces and support one another? How do they envision their future? A broad canvas of events that are fateful for our country unfolds on screen through the stories of different people: community leaders, doctors, retirees, museum workers, and ordinary residents of frontline villages, towns, and small cities. These stories are an example of Ukrainians' resilience in the face of invasion, a model of mutual aid and compassion for one's own: stories of Ukrainian unity.
