The filmmakers put important questions to viewers: how state-building developed in the 1940s, why the names of the people who laid the foundation of Ukrainian independence (such as UHVR President Kyrylo Osmak) remained in the shadows for so long, and why ignorance of one's own history makes new generations pay a high price.
The Life of Kyrylo Osmak
About the project
The film's main distinguishing feature is that the story of a statesman of this stature unfolds not through an off-screen or detached lecturer's voice, but through the account of his daughter, Nataliia Osmak. She shares family memories, letters, documents, and personal experiences, which give the biography exceptional poignancy, emotional depth, and a human dimension.
