About the project

“Border Guards” is the first multi-episode fiction project in the history of Ukrainian television dedicated to cadets of the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The series was directed by Oleksii Yesakov. The lead role is played by actor and serving soldier Volodymyr Rashchuk, who also served as the project’s military consultant. The series also stars Yevhen Lamakh, Kateryna Varchenko, Anastasiia Nesterenko, Ihor Portianko, and others.

This is an inspiring and dynamic story about former teenagers and young street kids who make a conscious decision to enroll in the border guard academy. Their strict commander and instructor uses his own unique method of upbringing to turn yesterday’s rebels into disciplined, combat-ready officers. The characters have to go through a difficult process of growing up, rise above their own egos, feel the real shoulder of a brother-in-arms, and prepare for the real challenges and trials that harsh reality sets before them.
