The main character faces the most terrible trial that can befall a mother: the disappearance of, or separation from, her daughter. Years pass, filled with pain, searching, and hope. Just when it seems the past can no longer be brought back, fate offers a chance for an unexpected reunion. But the daughter’s return brings no instant relief: the heroines have to learn to trust again, overcome resentments, untangle a knot of other people’s secrets, and prove that true maternal love can overcome any obstacle.

About the project
“Daughters” is a Ukrainian four-part melodrama from 2020, created by leading Ukrainian film companies for the TV channel Ukraine. It is an emotional family drama exploring the complicated relationships between parents and children, the pain of loss, the trials of fate, and attempts to restore broken family ties after many years.
