The heroine, Nastia Hlushko, is a smart, talented finance graduate who dreamed of working at a large company. But because of her modesty and lack of interest in glossy trends, she is not taken seriously. She takes a job as an assistant to the CEO of the prestigious cosmetics company “FreshMid,” the ambitious and self-assured Max Bondarenko. Her colleagues openly mock her over her clothing style and glasses, but thanks to her sharp mind, dedication to her work, and professional skills, Nastia gradually becomes the director's indispensable helper, helping him pull the business out of crises and get past the intrigues of top managers, while going through a deep inner transformation herself.

About the project
“My Favorite Strashko” is a Ukrainian adapted TV series (dramedy) from 2021, produced by the studio Artforms Production and commissioned by the “1+1” TV channel. The project is an official adaptation of the world-famous Colombian format “Betty la fea” (known in Ukraine as “Ne rodys krasyvoi”). The series was directed by Maksym Stepanov and Mila Pohrebyska. The main cast includes Iryna Poplavska (for whom this role was her acting debut in television), Oleksandr Sokolov, Daria Trehubova, Artur Lohai, Tetiana Malkova, and others. The series raises important social themes: workplace bullying, appearance shaming, the search for one's own identity, and a reconsideration of beauty standards in the modern digital world.
