About the project

“Romance with a Detective” is a Ukrainian four-episode detective melodrama from 2020, directed by Oleksandr Budonnyi. The project was produced by the film companies Filmstream and Vileton Films and commissioned by the “Ukraina” TV channel. The main cast includes well-known actors: Prokhor Dubravin, Olena Radevych, Oleksandr Konstantynov, and others.

The heroine, Larysa, is a successful businesswoman who is used to controlling everything and planning her life down to the smallest detail. But her familiar, orderly world begins to crumble when she runs into a series of strange, dangerous events and a threat to her business. To investigate, she hires a private detective, a cynical but experienced and perceptive man named Roman, who has completely different views on life. At first their relationship is very tense because of their opposite characters, but working together to uncover secrets and risky situations gradually changes how they feel about each other, growing into romantic feelings.
