The main heroine, Svitlana, is a woman whose life is entirely devoted to caring for her family. She is used to carrying the household, her husband, and her grown children on her shoulders, completely forgetting her own interests and dreams, and her loved ones often take her self-sacrifice for granted (which is why they gave her the dismissive nickname “mother hen” at home). But a series of dramatic events, a sudden betrayal, and hard blows of life force Svitlana to radically change her outlook, leave her familiar, shattered world, and try to start over from scratch.
