About the project

“Unlovely Lady” is a Ukrainian four-episode adventure melodrama from 2020. The project was directed by Oleksii Husiev. It is a tense story about childhood trauma, a thirst for justice, difficult life trials, and unexpected twists of fate, in which the genres of crime drama and melodrama intertwine.

At the center of the story is a young girl, Anfisa. When she was still a child, her parents disappeared in mysterious circumstances during a trip abroad, and their bodies were never found. Her own uncle quickly took over the family business and fortune and sent little Anfisa to an orphanage. Having grown up, the girl has a single goal: to take revenge on those who ruined her life and deprived her of her parents. She devises a clear plan of revenge, and to carry it out she has to resort to tricks and pretend to be an entirely different person. But the situation gets out of control when unexpected feelings appear on the way to realizing her scheme.
